Fans of the Bayonetta series had every reason to be happy at this year's Game Awards, because Bayonetta 3 was announced. The only downer: Exclusively for the Nintendo Switch console.
Almost 3 years after Part 2, the series, which is very popular with fans, will be continued. The action games, with the extraordinary story of a centuries-old witch as the main character, are reminiscent of the combat system Devil May Crybut have their own style.
Bayonetta 3 - The prehistory
There are 3 dimensions in the futuristic world. Paradiso and inferno are through the 4th dimension Purgatoria connected to the human world. Purgatoria can only be entered and crossed by magical beings. The names are of course reminiscent of Dante's Inferno and the circles of hell, but have little to do with the background of our world.
Rather, they stand here Umbra witches and the Lumens ways in a struggle as opposed to the balance between good and bad. Bayonette is an umber witch who wakes up with no memories at the beginning of part 1 and has survived the witch hunts and extermination of most other witches.
As a second surprise came the announcement that too Bayonetta 1 and 2 to be implemented on the switch. The publication date for this is not so far away with February 16, 2018.
