Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night? Metroidvania?
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night was born as the spiritual successor to the classic Castlevania series. The graphic is accordingly 2D or 2.5D and the player hits, jumps, runs or flies through the game world. There are a lot of different weapons, typical of the genre, and most importantly: movement skills.
Because that makes one Metroidvania Play first. Consisting of Metroid and Castlevania this is a genre with a lot of exploration and experimentation. In the course of the games you repeatedly come across obstacles that can only be overcome with the right skill. As the game progresses and new skills such as double jump, completely new paths and access to other regions open up. In recent years there has been a long dry spell with Hollow Knight or Ori and the Blind Forrest a small rebirth of the genre and with Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Hopefully the next big hit will come.
The release period is planned for the first half of 2018 and the game will appear on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 / Vita and Xbox One. There should even be an OS X and Linux version.
