After the incredible success in the first year, the announced one is now following Fortnite Competition season with $ 100 million Prize money.
Fortnite became a huge success in no time
At meanwhile 125 million players it is no wonder that publisher Epicgames lets the esports scene cost something. Even if the team has not yet revealed all the details about the upcoming tournaments and the process, there is some new information in the official announcement:
We will support community events, online events and large-scale competitions around the world that anyone can participate in and where everyone has a chance to win. The Fortnite World Cup qualifiers begin in autumn 2018 and culminate in the first Fortnite World Cup in late 2019. Regardless of whether you are part of the competition yourself or watch it from home - we want everyone to have fun.
How does it all look in detail? The 100,000,000 $ are divided into many events with different levels of competition all over the world. In the Fortnite World Cup, we focus on solo and duo matches, but there will also be enough opportunities for teams in the competition.
These events are for you, the players. Qualification for the Fortnite World Cup is based on performance. Epic will not sell teams or privileges, nor will any third party associations.
We'll be giving you the rules, the player code of conduct, more detailed information on the platforms and the schedule for autumn 2018 soon. Register here if you want to learn more about competitive gaming in Fortnite. We will keep you up to date!
The 100 million will be distributed over many events and not only serve as a figurehead for the World Cup, where the lucky winner will then go home with 50 million or more. The hope of the community goes in the direction of many small tournaments in which everyone has the chance to participate and win something.
