With "Descent into the deep“Rogues got one of the more interesting Quest cards. With this Hearthstone Guide we want to show you how to put the deck together and play.
The task of summoning 4 servants with the same name sent the rogue community in search of cheap and useful creatures. Some have now emerged as better choices:
{tooltip}Pirate crook{end-text}{end-tooltip}
{tooltip}Captain Googly Eye{end-text}{end-tooltip}
- {tooltip}South Sea Deckhand{end-text}{end-tooltip}
{tooltip}Engineering apprentice{end-text}{end-tooltip}
{tooltip}Stone carver{end-text}{end-tooltip}
All of these minions have useful side effects that are not only useful in the early game phase when summoned several times. They are also important in the endgame, after completing the quest and playing the crystal core. For example, a stonecutter boar - attack - shadow step and replaying the stonecutter boar means 10 points of damage for only 1 mana.
Complete the quest
In the beginning it is important to assess which servant is the best target for the quest. Weigh which servants you got in hand and which options the opponent has.
Kapt'n Glubschauge is only once in the deck, if he dies after you have used Shadow Step on him twice, the game is very likely over for you.
The apprentice engineer is extremely useful because of the battle cry and the card it draws. You just have to be careful not to play it with 10 cards in hand and thereby complete the quest. The crystal core would fizzle out because you hold too many cards.
{tooltip}Shadow step{end-text}{end-tooltip}
{tooltip}Young master brewer{end-text}{end-tooltip}
{tooltip}Ferrywoman from Gadgetzan{end-text}{end-tooltip}
{tooltip}Clone capsule{end-text}{end-tooltip}
With these cards you can summon a servant with the same name 4 times. With an early preparation + clone capsule, with a bit of luck you can complete the quest on turn 4. Your opponent should have some difficulties in repelling an army of 5/5 servants this early.
With all the combos and cheap cards that are played, there is also Edwin Van Cleef at. You will very quickly have an 8/8 or larger servant on the field.
That also brings us straight to the final. As soon as you have played the crystal core, all of your creatures become 5/5 servants. So if you already have a base of 1/1 creatures with cards like Violet Instructor or Moroes, these will be a bit more scary.
In the same way, servants with an onslaught such as stone tusk or the southern sea sailor, together with the remaining shadow steps, etc. can cause a lot of damage and decide the game in your favor.
Mulligan - starting hand selection
Prep + Clone Capsule is a strong start. Apprentice engineer as part of the combo and for additional cards is also worth keeping. If you are faced with a very aggressive deck like Murloc Shamane, assassinations and fans of daggers are recommended.
