Heroes of the Storm - Ana and Volskaya Fortress are here

The new Heroes of the Storm patch is here and brings the announced new map and new heroine Ana.

Heroes of the Storm with Overwatch impact

Ana the sniper is a skillshot based support champion who brings healing for her team and weakening effects for her opponents. With the stunning arrow she offers stuns and her heroic ability allows her to influence battles across the entire map.

New battlefield

The new battlefield is Volskaya Manufacturing, like Ana, has its origins in the world of Overwatch. Accordingly, the teams fight for control of the huge Triglav protectors. By occupying up to 3 control points, your team collects control progress until you get control of the robot when you reach 100.

This works similarly to the dragon knight, but has the special feature that it can accommodate 2 players. One as a pilot, one as a shooter. Both have their own selection of skills with which you can make life difficult for your opponents.

A change since the patch was playable on the PTR affects the Triglav protector:

Map units controlled by heroes

All hero-controlled map units such as the Dragon Knight, the Garden Beast, and the Triglav Protector are now unstoppable.

The developers also explain why this change came about:

Before this patch, the effect of group control effects on vehicles was reduced by 50 %. Originally, relocation effects on vehicles were not reduced at all. Over time, we've come to the conclusion that some skills shouldn't be applicable to vehicles.

The more heroes we added, the more special rules there were for handling vehicles. Instead of adding even more special rules to this list, we've decided to simplify the process and make vehicles unstoppable. We also looked at the values of the individual vehicles to compensate for their increased strength.
