League of Legends - MSI Matchday One Results

The first major round of Riot's Mid Season Invitational for League of Legends, took place in Brazil last night. After the preliminary round, the last 6 teams face each other on the way to the prize money of 400,000 US dollars for first place.

The group stage takes place from 10.-14. May, during these 5 days each team competes twice against each other team. Based on these results, the best teams then qualify for the final knockout round.

League of Legends continues to be dominated by SKT T1

As expected, the Korean favorites from Team SKT T1 with her star player Faker, finished the first day with 2 wins. In the first game of the day, the European won G2 Team even had a small 2,000 gold advantage, but could not use it and then lost to SKT T1 in 43 minutes.

The second match for SKT T1 against the Gigabyte Marines then ran even faster, the Gigabyte Marines' nexus fell in just 26 minutes.

Team G2 could make up for it with a victory over the Flash Wolves save at least the 1: 1 final score.

For the North American fans, the day started with a bit of a shock. The popular Team Solo Mid could the unrestrained aggression of the Gigabyte Marines did not withstand and thus lost the opening game. The match itself was very exciting, with several team fights that TSM could win despite backlog. The comeback thus seemed possible, but it could not be achieved. The match then went in favor of the Gigabyte Marines.

Similar to G2, Team Solo Mid was able to play against team in the 2nd match WE get the first win from China. TSM ended the day in the middle of the table with 1: 1. Let's hope that the western teams get a bit of a ride and can hold their own against the international competition in the next few days.

In the remaining game, Team WE defeated the Flash Wolves, their top laner “957” ensured a clear victory with a 7/0/4 Rumble.
