Day 3 of the epic battle between Europe and North America in League of Legends is over and after the dust has settled there are only 2 teams left. In the big Best of 5 final, Team Unicorns of Love for EU and Team SoloMid for NA face each other on Saturday evening.

League of Legends - NA wins the group stage

Team SoloMid had to clear two stumbling blocks on the third day with the matches against Fnatic and G2. While the game against Fnatic was still relatively clean and TSM was able to destroy the Nexus after only 30 minutes, Svenskeren dominating with 11-0-2 on Kha'zix, the match against G2 Esports was a close one.

In the longest game of the tournament so far, both teams gave everything for 52 minutes. Team SoloMid had been ahead in gold since the 7th minute, while G2 was able to secure several dragons and their bonuses. Towards the end, TSM was able to secure the Baron Buff twice, but had to give up the Elder Drake. With the bonuses doubled by the Elder Drake Buff, G2 was able to hold out for a long time and the team fights were more than close. When both teams have accumulated more than 60-70k gold and almost all players have full item builds, TSM's 10k gold lead didn't play much either.

In the end it all boiled down to a decisive group fight. And this was won by Team SoloMid thanks to their Midlaner Bjergsen. With his 9-1-4 Cassiopeia and a courageous flash forward to take G2 Perkz on Taliyah with his combo, Bjergsen decided the fight almost alone. Without Perkz, G2 was missing the damage it needed to win the fight. TSM ADC Doublelift on Tristana had a rather low record with 1-1-8, his ultimates that shot the opposing Gnar into nowhere and thus ensured Bjergsen's safety, were also decisive for the game.

The rest of the day's results

In the final on Saturday at 6 p.m., Team SoloMid and the Unicorns of Love will face each other. Since the Unicorns were the only team in the tournament that could win against TSM, the final promises to be exciting. After that, the friendly competition between the EU and NA will be decided at least until the World Cup. So keep your fingers crossed for your favorites and your region.
