In an extra commemoration stream, developer Square Enix thanked the fans for the surprising success of NieR: Automata.
The futuristic action game, in which the player in the role of Androidin 2B tries to recapture the earth for humanity, has already sold more than 1 million copies. No one at Square Enix had expected these numbers. The simultaneous release on PC has paid off, the predecessor Nier only appeared for Playstation and Xbox at the time.
To celebrate, the developers announced the release of the first DLC on May 2nd in Japan (1,500 yen = ~ 13 €). It will appear shortly thereafter in Europe and North America.
