August 4th brings the Path of Exile Fans not only get the complete makeover of the game with the expansion The Fall of Oriathbut also a new league. The Harbinger Challenger League offers a completely new start with fresh characters. As always, there are different variants such as Hardcore or SSF (Solo-Self-Found) where you cannot trade and have to make do with your own drops.
Path of Exile - Harbinger Challenger League
The specialty of the league are the eponymous Harbingers. New, mysterious characters wandering through Wraeclast speaking an unknown language. Their true nature is still unknown. They are known for their abilities to create and command monsters in the area. In doing so, they reinforce the various monsters with their own skills.
A Harbinger can summon cannibals and skeletons in the ledge, surround them with exploding storms, sprint back and forth between them and leave traces of fire in the process. The Harbingers themselves cannot be attacked or harmed, but they take damage when their subordinates monsters are killed.
As prey, the Harbinger drop fragments of new currencies, for example fragments of the Orb of Horizons, which can be used to convert a card to another card of the same tier.
The individual parts of new, powerful uniques also beckon to the conqueror of Harbinger. Once you have collected all the individual parts, your new item is put together. These powerful artifacts give you the ability to summon your own Harbinger.
Challenges and rewards
A total of 40 challenges await you in the league, if you defeat any 12 you will get the Harbinger Glowing Eyes Effect. At 24 you will get the Crown Effect, 36 will be rewarded with the Harbinger Character Effect. The cosmetic effects are exclusively available in the league.
For the 19th challenge completed and from then on for every third one, there is a totem pole decoration for your hideout. With it you can demonstrate your successes permanently even after the end of the league.
Supporter Packs to support the ongoing development of Path of Exile are available in two versions 30$ and 60$ with the appearance of the expansion and contain various cosmetic effects such as a cloak, weapon effect or a pet.
The Path of Exile expansion The Fall of Oriath will be released on August 4th, 2017. You can start at 10 pm and the Harbinger League is directly available.
