The Speedrun Marathon went yesterday with a record result Summer Games Done Quick over $ 2 million raised. The one week event was able to increase last year's result of 1.8 million and it was a total of 2.129.079 US dollars donated.

Summer Games Done Quick is the partner event of Awesome Games Done Quick (AGDQ), which usually takes place in January. AGDQ is committed to collecting donations for the Prevent Cancer Fondation. The Prevent Cancer Fondation is a US-based charity that deals with cancer prevention and cancer research.

Immense sums of money have been collected for years, for example AGDQ brought it to over 2.2 million US dollars in January. A tremendous achievement for an event that once took place in the organizer's basement and now has to rent half a hotel to accommodate hundreds of speed runners, volunteers and live guests. Not to mention the well over 100,000 viewers on Twitch.
