Tom Clancy's The Division is still very popular and the developers want to use this momentum for Part 2.
A post published too early on the Ubisoft blog made the news yesterday, but was initially deleted. A few hours later she did official message. The Division 2 is not only planned, it is already being worked on. Development should have started just under 1 month after Part 1 was published.
The Division 2 - With a new version of the Snowdrop Engine
The Division 2 will the Snowdrop Engine and is a collaboration between Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft Reflections, Red Storm Entertainment, Ubisoft Annecy, Ubisoft Shanghai and Ubisoft Bucharest. So a truly global project that benefits from feedback from many different designers. The collected criticism and suggestions of the fans for part 1 are also used. The Division 1 couldn't quite live up to the huge hype at first, but improvements and patches ensured long-term success and a stable player base.
Even now, almost 2 years after its release in March 2016, there is a very active fan base and regular updates.
To celebrate the two-year birthday, fans will receive two new global events and a number of additional missions. These should be quite crisp and come with a "legendary" level of difficulty.
As a transition to Part 2, the developers are planning special ones from June Achievements in part 1. The so-called Coat of arms / shields unlock special rewards for the successor.
Details on new game elements, history, PvP etc. are not yet available. For that we have to go to the E3 fair in June wait where more details on The Division 2 will be announced.
