The story of Ys VIII is completely new, there are enough familiar faces for fans of the series to feel right at home, but the individual stories of the games have always been self-contained. This means that newcomers can also jump straight into the adventure.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately, the protagonist Adol is unlucky and wakes up on a cursed island. His ship is in ruins and he's stranded for the time being. Together with the surviving passengers that Adol was able to save, they build a village for themselves. In it they find protection from the terrifying beasts and monsters of the island and use it as a base to explore the mysterious ruins on the island.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Adol begins to dream about an unknown blue-haired woman. Now it is up to the player to reveal the island's secrets and find the woman from his dreams.<\/p>\n
Ys VIII is an action adventure in which you have up to 2 companions in the party and you can switch seamlessly between all three even in combat. This enables combos and new tactics. The combat system is extremely fluid and only pauses in the menu when you use healing potions, for example.<\/p>\n
