The first of three free extensions <\/a>for Hollow Knight came out tonight. With Hidden Dreams come new bosses, soundtracks, a new transport option and other features. The 3 free DLC are part of the Kickstarter Stretch Goals campaign and the developers are keeping their promise to help finance the surprise hit.<\/p>\n

In celebration of the release of Hidden Dreams, Hollow Knight is currently available at 34% discount (GoG<\/a> – Steam<\/a>) and costs less than 10 \u20ac. A real bargain for lovers of Jump & Runs and Metroidvania games.<\/p>\n

Hi everyone, Hidden Dreams is here! Let's jump into some notes about what's new in the technical side of things.<\/p>\n

NEW LANGUAGE: ITALIAN<\/p>\n

Hollow Knight can now be played in Italian, thanks to the help of a fantastic, dedicated bunch of fan translators!<\/p>\n

CONTROLLERS: NATIVE INPUT MODE (BETA)<\/p>\n

Some players have been having issues with their controllers not being recognized by the game, or behaving weirdly. As a step toward fixing the issue, we've added this alternative control mode to the game.<\/p>\n

If you're having issues with your controller, go to Options> Game Options and turn Native Controller Input (Beta) to 'On'. This should hopefully solve the issue.<\/p>\n

Note that this feature is still in beta and will need some more testing before it is fully stable.
\nSome testers have a reported an issue where quitting to the main menu causes the game to crash and close, but they report that this happens AFTER the save occurs so no data is lost - it's a just a bit inconvenient \/ jarring. We'll collect everyone's feedback on this feature and integrate it into the game fully in future.<\/p>\n

MAC DELAY<\/h3>\n

Quick note for Mac users: Due to a last-minute mac specific bug, there'll be a very slight delay on the Hidden Dreams update. We're sorry for the inconvenience, and please expect the Mac version to arrive very soon.<\/p>\n

NEW FEATURES (HIDDEN DREAMS)<\/h2>\n

- The barrier between Hallownest and Dream has weakened. Essence can be gathered by defeating enemies.
\n- Enemy placement changes in City of Tears
\n- Boss title fixes
\n- Failed Tramway is only fully mapped once Tram Pass is acquired
\n- Removed toll gate in deep nest
\n- Audio changes in Blue Lake
\n- Cyclone Slash increased size, reduced knockback, reduced anticipation and recovery time
\n- Increased damage for Glowing Womb hatchlings
\n- Increased damage for Flukenest flukes
\n- Landing in water no longer freezes Knight in place during splash animation
\n- A foe became slightly deadlier
