The name Warcraft 3<\/strong> Nowadays you rarely read news in games, if only as an inspiration for World of Warcraft<\/strong>. Now there are signs of life of the real-time strategy classic, developer Blizzard has put a public test server for Warcraft 3 online for the first time. Interested players can now test the new Map Pool for 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4 and Free for All matches on this. In addition, there were also minor balance changes, the complete patch notes can be found at the end of the article.<\/p>\n

Blizzard and the problems of a Warcraft sequel<\/h2>\n

Blizzard is known for providing games with updates years later, so even decades-old classics like Diablo 2 still get updates. In the case of Warcraft 3, fans are naturally also hoping for a possible remake like Starcraft is currently doing with the Starcraft: Remastered Version<\/a> experienced.<\/p>\n

Warcraft 3 and a possible part 4 is always a hotly debated point among fans. The question of whether and how there could be a successor creates arguments that go on for pages. The real-time strategy series Warcraft provided the background to World of Warcraft. Part 1 Orcs vs. Humans already introduced characters like Gul'dan. Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos<\/strong> and the expansion Frozen Throne, told the tragic story of Arthas, Frostmourne and the Lich King. This is also one of the most popular chapters in World of Warcraft. Recently even could Hearthstone players face the Lich King<\/a> lay down and play cards with death knight.<\/p>\n

Since World of Warcraft has driven the story forward tremendously in the last 10 years and no end is foreseeable there, Blizzard would be faced with the question of where and in which version of Azeroth it could be set for a possible Warcraft 4 title.<\/p>\n

Whether and what plans Blizzard has for the Warcraft series will only be seen in the future, perhaps a surprise awaits us at this year's Blizzcon.<\/p>\n

Item diversity: Varied Level 1 though 6 charged items and Level 1 through 6 permanent items<\/p>\n

Balanced all start locations: total amount and starting distance from lumber, equal amount of spacing, equal size choke points, et cetera<\/p>\n

Balanced expansion distance from start locations<\/p>\n

Decluttered points of interest to reduce visual competition during gameplay<\/p>\n

Retextured map surfaces for better visual clarity - both on screen and mini-map<\/p>\n

Minimized the size of trees and doodads that obstructed player view of points of interest<\/p>\n

Added cliff lines or deep water to edges of the map - removing hard edges (aesthetic choice for immersion)<\/p>\n

Properly placed trees and doodads on the pathing grid: full-cell Medium Grid to half-cell Medium Grid alternate<\/p>\n

Removed the rolling shoreline waves from rolling hills to remove the noise the waves created - remains for cliff shores<\/p>\n

Latency was improved with 1.28, but still needs work to meet modern standards<\/p>\n
