Who the new Paladin hero Arthas<\/strong> wants to own, she expects Hearthstone<\/strong> Challenge to defeat the Lich King with all 9 classes.<\/p>\n

To help you with this venture, we've rounded up a few decks that are up to the task. In this first of two articles<\/a> you can find sample decks for warriors, hunters and the druid.<\/p>\n

The Hearthstone Warrior vs. the Lich King:<\/h2>\n

There are several options for the warrior:<\/p>\n

A "problem" for the Lich King is the combination of Kel'Thuzad + public defender in phase 2, which can be exploited. The deck is designed to survive and at the beginning of phase 2 with a skirmish to destroy all but one captured soul. It is important that you do not have a servant on the board and that all souls are not "accidentally" destroyed. In this case, phase 3 would begin immediately.<\/p>\n

After the skirmish you only have to survive with the remaining ridicule servants and your hero skills until you have 10 mana and can play Kel'thuzad + public defender. From this moment the Lich King stops attacking with Frostmourne, instead he attacks only with the captured soul. With this combo you hold out until the Lich King has pulled his way through his entire deck and most of the cards have been burned because of his full hand. Behind this bulwark you play a servant like the Scaled Nightmare, who can kill the enemy in an attack after a few moves, then you destroy the captured soul with your Kel'Thuzad and then the Lich King with your nightmare. As an alternative to the scaled nightmare, cards such as Gruul, Naxxramasschemen or Restless Adventurer are also possible.<\/p>\n

Alternatively, a deck works with the combination: Stubborn original snail<\/strong> and Alarm-o-bot.\u00a0<\/strong>To do this, you pack all of your strongest servants that you have in the deck. With the mulligan, i.e. the starting hand, go for a primordial snail and a bot, if in doubt, just give up and try again until you have the combo. Then you play the Sture Urschnecke in turn 2, the Alarm-o-Bot in turn 3 and from then on you have a new large servant on the board every round. Since the Lich King has no spells of mass destruction, your army will eventually overwhelm him.<\/p>\n

The Hearthstone hunter against the Lich King<\/h2>\n

The best chance for hunters is to take advantage of the Vicious cub<\/strong> or the Ass-eating hyena<\/strong>. Backyard Stray + Scavenger Hyena is a good combo to start with.<\/p>\n

The evil cub can almost alone decide the fight for itself if you can protect it until it comes to an attack. If possible, you should choose Windfury (it mutates again on the 2nd attack) and stealth as your first ability, so you are almost guaranteed another attack. With "Cannot be chosen as the target of spells" it is safe from the single target annihilation spells of the Lich King. Then you just keep strengthening it with + 1 \/ + 1 or +3 attack or +3 life points.<\/p>\n

The "Crackling Sharptooth<\/strong>\u201cGives you another option to reinforce either the hyena or the young with a mutation.<\/p>\n

The Hearthstone Druid versus the Lich King:<\/h2>\n

Druids have it relatively simple and use a variant of the currently very popular Jade deck. In phase 2, hide behind the mock servants who you summon through the epidemic and fabricate as many jade golems as possible. With Fandral Hirschhaupt + Jadeidol or Goblin Auctioneer + Jadeidol you can create ever stronger servants and defeat the Lich King.<\/p>\n
