World of Warcraft developer Blizzard plans to take eSports to a new level this year. Today's announcement of the new modalities heralds the qualifications for the 2017 World Cup. With a little YouTube review of Blizzcon 2016, where the last World of Warcraft Arena Champion was crowned, Blizzard is causing hype among viewers and participants.<\/p>\n

This includes extra qualification tournaments in Europe and North America, so more can prove. The previous minimum arena rating is no longer applicable, so everyone can participate. Prize money of 6,000$ as well as broadcasting the top 8 teams will ensure more publicity. Hopefully this will result in more opportunities for previously unknown team sponsors.<\/p>\n

World of Warcraft Arena - Qualification via online tournaments<\/h2>\n

The teams receive points for placements in online arena tournaments and qualify for the regional LAN events. There is no limit to the number of tournaments your team can participate in, so take them all with you.<\/p>\n

Overall, the number of teams from North America and Europe increased from 8 last year to 12.<\/p>\n
