Shooter games have traditionally been a popular target for cheaters, epics Fortnite<\/strong> is no exception. Shortly after the free battle royale mode<\/strong> the developers of Epic emphasized in a newspaper post how important the fight against cheaters is for them.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs with Epic, player-versus-player games like Fortnite Battle Royale are played because of the integrity of competition. The exhilaration to turn someone off after a tough duel and win the Battle Royale is unique. And then it gets ruined by a cheater.<\/em><\/p>\n

What is Epic doing about it?<\/em><\/p>\n

Fighting cheaters is a top priority for Epic. Methods to discover cheaters and prevent cheating opportunities are constantly being worked on. The whole thing is a continuous process in which the developers try to ensure that the cheaters are and remain blocked. We (Epic) don't want to give too many clues on how to do this, but tools are being built into the game for that. So far, thousands of cheaters have been banned and that will continue to happen. "<\/em><\/p>\n

A slightly more positive topic is the new feature of the Account progression<\/strong>which should come in the next few weeks. A progress system is built in through which rewards can be earned. Our guess is that it is similar to Overwatch<\/strong> or soon in League of Legends,<\/strong> will give cosmetic items at a level up. This ensures long-term motivation.<\/p>\n
