The Resident Evil 7 Biohazard developers announced the postponement of the DLC "Not a Hero" today with a video.
Producer Masachika Kawata and director Koshi Nakanishi explain in the video why their DLC, which was announced for spring 2017, had to be postponed. The team put a lot of hard work into the project and was close to completion. In view of the tremendous success of Resident Evil 7, the result was not enough. In order to avoid disappointing the huge expectations and hopes of the fan base, the DLC is being revised again.
The aim of the developers is to deliver the same high quality as the main game. This takes more time, Kawata and Nakanishi promise the fans that the additional waiting time will be worth it.
Given that the DLC will be free, it's an extremely positive step that the team is taking here. Other companies often don't even make such claims for their full-price products.
Resident Evil 7 - The executive producer also makes a statement
In the second half of the video, Jun Takeuchi, Executive Producer of Resident Evil 7, has his say. Takeuchi also explains how they came to the decision to postpone the DLC. The enormous feedback and the loyalty of the fans in particular mean a lot to the team. And they definitely don't want to disappoint this trust. Resident Evil 7 was a very successful reboot of the series and stormed the sales charts in Germany. Over 3 million copies have been sold worldwide. In addition to the first free DLC, another DLC is in the works and, according to Takeuchi, should meet the same high quality standards. In conclusion, he thanks the fans for their loyalty and hopes that they will remain loyal to the series despite the waiting time.
Resident Evil 7 Biohazard was released on January 24th, 2017 for Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC.
