Middle-earth: Shadow of War - Story Trailer

Middle-earth: Shadow of War

A brilliant Middle-earth: Shadow of War story trailer was released today by developer 4k. The video offers plenty of goosebumps for fans of the series and Tolkien's Middle-earth. Among other things, the protagonist Talion, known from Part 1, competes against a Balrog.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War The Prehistory

In part 1 Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor Talion and his family were murdered by Sauron's hand and turned into a ghost. There he allied himself with the spirit of the elven prince and rings forge Celembrimbor. Armed with supernatural powers, Talion set out to take revenge for his family. He fights against hordes of orcs and other followers of the dark ruler. In the mix of Combat-Stealth-Action-Hack & Slay, that was what really stood out Nemesis system emerged. You met orc leaders of Sauron's army again and again and could kill them or bring them under his control. By clever tactics one positioned one's allies higher and higher in the hierarchy of the army.

At the same time, the blood feuds with enemies to whom one was defeated provided extra motivation to seek them and to take revenge.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War

Middle-earth: Shadow of War relies on the strengths of its predecessor and improves the Nemesis system. The player will be able to conquer fortresses and use commanders who are sympathetic to him and thus facilitate the advance on Mordor. As the leader of an orc army, such a country liberates itself much easier.

After several gameplay trailers, this video focuses on the story. The warning right away: The developers interpret the Lord of the Rings story relatively freely and tell stories that are not necessarily official. For example, an encounter with Gollum in the first part or the whole premise of the undead elf prince are of course not designed by Tolkien. Nevertheless, they fill in gaps in the story that were simply never told and are therefore also fun for Tolkien fans.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War will be released on October 10th for Xbox One, Projekt Scorpio, PC and Playstation 4. As always, you can find the video at the beginning of the article.
