In addition to the new necromancer class, Diablo 3 Patch 2.6 will bring the challenge portals for all players. In these Nephalimportals you are given a character, equipment, paragon points etc. and you have to close the portal as quickly as possible.
Diablo 3 - Unlimited Possibilities
The almost unlimited variety of character builds is one of the best features of Diablo 3. Even years after its release, the gamer always has new builds to try out. Through the challenge portals, new builds are now made available to all players every week and allow for friendly competition with rewards.
Blizzard selects a completed large nephale import from a player account. A snapshot of the character including paragon points, objects, skills and runes is made available to all players. With this character you enter the Nephalimportal, which also corresponds 100% to the original portal. Thus, you can make a direct comparison as to whether and how quickly you can close the portal with the same options.
If you beat the original time, you will receive one once a week Bag full of loot, splinters of blood, and crafting materials.
Challenge portals are a feature that the Diablo 3 developers have been working on for a long time. As a player, there is the ranking list to compare yourself with others, but there is always a random factor in the game. After all, chance is the main element in Diablo and the reason why you can play almost endlessly, always looking for the one item with the perfect values.
This is of course not ideal for a direct comparison, and this is where the challenge portals fill the gap. Since all players start with identical conditions, it only depends on their own skills and practice.
A bonus is the chance to get to know new builds and maybe come up with innovative ideas yourself. It doesn't always have to be the "Top Meta Two-Hundred Percent Optimized Build" to have fun.
The challenge portals are currently on the test server and will be installed on the live servers with patch 2.6.0. You can find the video of the explanation from the Blizzard developers at the beginning of the article.
