As if Valves DOTA 2 competition The International 2017 Wasn't exciting enough with the announcement of the new game Artifact another blast ignited.
Sean "Day 9“Plott the host of the panel of experts for TI 2017 had the pleasure of the first Artifact, the Dota Card Game Introduce trailer. Unfortunately, the mini trailer shows no gameplay and so far little tangible information has been announced. Artifact seems to be going a completely new way for card games than, for example, Blizzard with Hearthstone or CD Projekt Red with GWENT: The Witcher Card Game.
Artifact - The Dota Card Game - First Information
We have compiled the information we have known so far for you below:
- There should be 3 game boards representing the 3 lanes of Dota.
- Accordingly, the player also controls 5 heroes.
- These heroes can be equipped with cards and upgraded. These cards are bought with gold.
- There are also creeps, neutral monsters that appear every round and can probably be killed for gold or items.
- You will be able to play creatures cards.
- Some cards have effects on the lane on which they are played and influence it permanently. Probably similar to the weather effects in Gwent, where individual rows are changed.
- The heroes should have similar characteristics and abilities as their Dota 2 counterparts.
At first glance, there are a lot of differences from previous card games. Artifact could even play more like a Solo Moba, with the cards and their effects as a bonus or new game element.
According to Day 9, there will be no further Artifact news during the TI, probably to avoid distraction from the Dota 2 action. All we have to do is hold out and wait for more details in the next few weeks.
Artifact, the Dota Card Game should be released in 2018.
