No Man's Sky - Pathfinder Update Trailer

No Man's Sky

Indie developer Studio Hello Games today released a trailer with first details about the Pathfinder update for their game No Man's Sky.

The hype and controversy surrounding No Man's Sky will surely be remembered by many. Released for Playstation and PC in August 2016, there was a wave of indignation about missing features. Some promises made by the developers around Sean Murray were refuted on the first day.

No Man's Sky is a space exploration game whose main feature is the procedurally generated planets with associated flora and fauna. The player flies his spaceship through the universe in search of better equipment, technology or spaceships. The only goal of the game is to reach the center of the universe. Due to the way it was generated, No Man's Sky comes to 18 trillion planets.

The developers assumed that two players would never meet with the size of the universe, but gave indications that it would theoretically be possible. Immediately after the release, this was unfortunately refuted by some streamers within hours. The players who were on the same planet at the identical coordinates could not perceive each other. These and other inconsistencies caused trouble for many customers and there were even complaints about unfair advertising. Some features were delivered with the Foundation Update.

What does the No Man's Sky Pathfinder Update offer?

With the Patch Pathfinder, the developers want to make up more ground. A new feature is a kind of hardcore mode, the death of the character is permanent.

The exocrafts for exploring the planets are also improved, including a booster and a greater range. There will also be 3 different unique exocrafts that players can research and build.

Installations on planets are now to be networked online so that other space researchers can see and enter them. Additionally there will be the possibility to post subspace messages for other players.

The developers are also announcing new components for spaceships and stations on the planets.

Playstation 4 owners can be happy and admire No Man's Sky with the update in 4k resolution.
