The first day of gamescom already offered a lot of news for GWENT fans. With "Thronebreaker" the developers not only presented the first solo player campaign, but also presented the official eSports series with GWENT Masters.

The solo campaign Thronebreaker revolves around Meve, the queen of two Northern Kingdoms who is a veteran of combat. When their country is threatened by invasion, Meve takes the initiative and goes into battle. At the Queen's side, players explore new areas that have never been shown in the world of The Witcher.
The campaign will offer difficult and profound quests, as well as the gathering of resources with which one can successfully fight the detailed battles. This is a completely new element in the tactical GWENT matches.

GWENT Masters Series
With the Masters series, CD Projekt Red starts the tournaments and eSports of GWENT. While such structures take years to form in other games, the developers bring a well thought-out tournament and qualification series up to the world championship before they are released.
A sophisticated system of tournaments and crown points offers various opportunities to qualify for the higher tournaments.
The starting point is the Pro ladder seasons, each lasts 2 months. The top 200 placed players receive a corresponding number of crown points. Every month there will be one of 8 Gwent Open tournaments. The 8 players with the most Crown Points at the end of the Profilist season will qualify for the Open tournaments at $ 25,000 each.
Every 2 months there will be a 2nd level tournament GWENT Challenger give. The participants of the 4 Challenger tournaments will choose from the winner of the last Challenger tournament, as well as 4 finalists of the last 2 GWENT Open tournaments and up to 3 players with the most crown points. There are also 2 wild card players invited by CD Projekt Red. These tournaments have a prize pool of no less than $ 100,000. A special bonus for the winner is the Challenger winner title including a championship ring.
At the end of the series is the World Masters tournament with prize money of $ 250,000. In the course of which the first world champion is crowned.
