Bad news for fans of South Park: The Fractured but Whole. Sony today canceled all pre-orders for US customers on the Playstation 4. Those affected can find the amount reimbursed on their Playstation account.
The game for the well-known television series was repeatedly postponed, and Sony now drew the consequences from it. Particularly annoying: Those who received the previous game The Stick of Truth as a bonus through the pre-order campaign can no longer access it.
South Park: The Fractured but Whole has already been postponed to the first quarter of 2017. On February 9, publisher Ubisoft announced another delay and only named the 2018 financial year as the release date. This means a possible period from April 2017 to March 2018.
Similar issues with The Stick of Truth
The predecessor South Park: The Stick of Truth, which appeared in 2014, was plagued by postponed release dates. At that time, customers received an email requesting whether they wanted to cancel the pre-order. This time at least Sony does without it and has canceled all pre-orders for the Playstation 4.
It remains to be seen whether pre-orders from other countries now face the same fate.
South Park: The Fractured but Whole is developed by Ubisoft in close collaboration with the South Park series inventors Matt Stone and Trey Parker. The title should appear for Windows, Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
