As if the time doesn't pass slowly enough before Christmas, Bandai Namco has further fueled expectations with a new trailer for Code Vein. The 2018 Dark Souls-style action game about an apocalyptic future with vampires has been causing cheers among fans since its announcement.
Code Vein = Dark Souls with Vampires?
Already the previous trailer with cool music and cuts reminiscent of an anime showed that Code Vein is not just “just” Dark Souls with vampires, but develops its very own style. The trailer was animated by the well-known animation studio Ufotable, which are known from games God Eater, Tales of Zestiria or Tales of Berseria.
In Code Vein, the player slips into the role of a revenant who is looking for information and details about his past. Monsters and other revenants who have lost too much of their humanity and thus became ghouls stand in our way.
We receive help from companions who, depending on their personality, have different abilities and can help in battle or revive us. The action-based combat system is similar to Dark Souls or Bloodborne. So we have to tactically and precisely time our attacks in order not to run into a counterattack. The bosses in particular demand everything from the player in terms of reaction, tactics and perseverance.
Code Vein will be released for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in early 2018. Unfortunately, there is no exact release date yet.
