Path of Exile Skills Revision Part 2

Path of Exile

As reported last week, they work Path of Exile Developers working on revising older and underused skills. In the first part, for example, black ice and the planned changes to it were shown. This week the team presents part 2 with the focus on Fire trap, bear trap and lightning trap. Character builds with traps usually provide innovative ideas, but unfortunately they play a bit bumpy.

Path of Exile - The new Fallen skills

Fire trap

Here should the Removed cooldown so that the fire trap can be placed as quickly and often as possible next to other traps with a cooldown time. In addition, the fire trap receives bonus damage against enemies that are already on fire, so that it is worthwhile to “stack”.

The burning ground that has been left by the trap so far should be a little stronger for it to be shorter. Many opponents who move quickly or have a jump attack, etc., so far only take the initial damage and are straight out of the burning ground.

As part of the improvements, Fire Trap will change from a Level 1 gem to a Level 12 gem and be available in the campaign after completing the quest "The Siren's Call".

Bear trap

In addition to the relatively severe damage that the bear trap does, it is also intended to take the damage suffered reinforce further traps or mines to the enemy. The ability to immobilize the enemy should depend on the damage done.

Lightning trap

Similar to the fire trap, it loses its cooldown time and can therefore be used more often.

In terms of damage, the lightning trap gets a higher critical hit chance and bonus damage shocked targets.

The Path of Exile Team is also working on a new one Support gem which is specially designed for traps / mines and will also work well with the lightning trap. The new gem will likely generate energy as well as frenzy charges when you trap enemies with your traps.

With the characters, the shadow will experience some adjustments. Its start area and other areas dealing with traps will be revised. For example, the early decision between physical and elemental damage should be postponed, as the talents first deal with strengthening traps.

Overall, the Number of active traps increased will. However, this is the subject of internal tests, as such a change could very quickly make traps "overpowered".

Further information on the revision of the skills will continue to be released in a timely manner, including feedback from the Path of Exile Community to listen.
