Project Scorpio - Forza 7

The first game titles have now been announced for the upcoming Project Scorpio console, advertised by Microsoft with real 4K graphics.

The importance of good launch titles and high quality first-party games Xbox boss Phil Spencer announced last week. Now the first specific names follow and with the 7th part of the Xbox exclusive Forza Series also starts a graphic heavyweight. The racing game series has long been synonymous with extremely high quality graphics. Accordingly, the new part is the perfect opportunity to exhaust the qualities of the new console. If Microsoft succeeds with Forza 7, the new reference title in the racing game area, that should really heat up console sales.

Well-known third-party support for Project Scorpio

There are a lot of big names among the other titles, among the first-party titles alongside Forza 7, for example Crackdown 3 and State of Decay 2.

The third-party games don't have to hide at all. Top game series like Call of Duty, FIFA and Madden, are just as much part of the line-up as Battlefront 2 and Red Dead Redemption 2. All of these titles should appear with a 4K resolution on Project Scorpio.

With Battlefront 2 developer DICE appearing in the reveal trailer for Project Scorpio at E3 2016, this is no surprise. On the other hand, Red Dead Redemption 2 is a candidate that was not expected so far and accordingly shows strong third-party support.

If you take into account the fact that Microsoft announced in its roadmap that many Xbox One games should run on 4K resolution without updates. Then you can assume a large and varied range of games at the start of Project Scorpio.

With graphics services such as 4K resolution, 4K supersampling for 1080p televisions and 4K streaming, Microsoft is making the focus clear. The Scorpio will not be “just” an Xbox 5, but a high quality product that offers gamers many advantages.

Further details will be available at this year's E3 trade fair in June at the latest.
