Fortnite Patch 5.0

General

  • If the notification now appears that you have been invited to a group, you can accept the invitation immediately and no longer have to open the group search.
  • The news widget has been adapted so that in most cases there is no need for a scroll bar.
    • Scrolling is now also possible with the controller, should it be necessary.
  • Shaders now use less memory on the console. This reduces the patch sizes and loading times.
  • The arrangement of files has been optimized to reduce loading times on all platforms.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed an issue where the push-to-talk setting was temporarily not working as intended.

Fortnite Battle Royale

Weapons and objects

  • Shotguns now show how many shotguns have hit the crosshairs.
  • Shotgun scattering patterns are now more consistent and no longer vary randomly.
  • After a shotgun has been fired, no other shotgun can be fired for a very short time.
  • When aiming with the hunting rifle, the aiming aid has been weakened to better match other sniper rifles with projectiles.
  • The damage reduction on silenced submachine gun distances is now consistent with other submachine guns.
    • Damage reduction starts at 24 m and no longer at 28 m.
    • Damage is reduced to 80 % at 35 m (previously at 47.5 m to 85 %).
    • Damage is reduced from 50 m to 65 % (previously from 70 m to 75 %).

Gameplay

  • 4x4 carts (ARK)
    • The new all-wheel drive cart offers space for a whole team.
    • Gets a speed boost after every drift.
    • The roof works like a jumping surface.
    • In the 4x4 cart, the rear passengers can work together to jump over obstacles. If both lean back and straighten up at the same time, the jump is higher.
      • Lean back by holding down the S button on the keyboard or the stick on the controller.
  • Updated map
    • New biome: desert
    • New location: Paradise Palms
    • New location: Lazy Links
    • There are also some new, distinctive, unnamed locations all over the map.
  • The center of the eyes of storm 7, 8, and 9 can now shift in random directions (instead of simply getting smaller). As the storm contracts, the eye moves to the new location.
  • Starting in Season 5, ongoing challenges are no longer limited to a single season. You can take the time you need now to face these challenges.
  • Ongoing Challenges can now be completed by earning a fixed amount of XP and no longer depend on your Season Level.
  • Weekly Challenges are now divided into two categories - Free Pass and Battle Pass. The first three challenges will be available for free, and the last four will require a Battle Pass. Each Weekly Challenge Pack is still considered completed with four challenges completed.
  • Players who have fallen to the ground occupy a smaller collision area. Previously, the collision area was the size of a standing character, preventing players who had fallen on the ground from crawling under doors. Also, in some cases, they could block building.
    • Crouched players who go down are crouched back after being resuscitated.
  • Triggering emotes now pauses sprinting.
  • In the time-limited modes 50 versus 50 and 20-man teams, you will now receive XP for resurrecting team members up to three times per match (30 XP, 10 XP, 10 XP).
  • The crosshair now fades slightly when reloading, running out of ammo, or switching weapons.
  • The player camera can now see out of the water when walking through lakes.

Bug fixes

  • Jumping surfaces and crackling campfires will now destroy small objects that are in the way when placed.
  • The trigger area of damage traps is now smaller to better match their appearance and so that the trap can no longer be triggered from an elevation.
  • Supply Llamas will now fall down when the ground below them is destroyed.
  • Killed players now properly count towards challenge progression.
  • Automatic running is no longer canceled if you let go of the stick on the controller and it then snaps back briefly.
  • Fixed an issue where automatic shopping with the shopping cart could be used.
  • The first eye of the storm now always deals 1 damage.
  • Players will no longer get stuck in a doorway if they were standing in it when the door was closed.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented some weapon animations from playing.
  • Automatic running can no longer be activated when running backwards.
  • Textures are now consistently displayed correctly in edit mode.
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when logging out.

performance

  • The performance when using shopping carts has been improved for both the game and the servers.

Audio

  • Custom ambient sounds have been added for the new desert biome. In future updates, the map will receive additional individual ambient sounds!
  • The sound effect when completing Battle Pass challenges is now quieter.
  • The sound effects of the user interface have been revised.

Bug fixes

  • The sound of the twin pistols firing is no longer cut off if you change weapons immediately after firing.
  • The sound effects of the True Love emote no longer overlap when other players are using it nearby.
  • The electronic radio melody of the emote “dance steps” can be heard again on mobile devices and Nintendo Switch.

user interface

  • The same sound visualization can now be used for all platforms, which is also used on mobile devices. As long as it is activated, however, no sound effects can be heard. On mobile platforms, the sound effects and the visualization remain as before. You can find the new option under the Accessibility tab in Settings.
  • Zooming in and out of the map is now twice as fast with the controller.
  • "Player###" is no longer displayed in streamer mode. Instead, the name of the outfit is now displayed as the player name: "Character [###]". So instead of "Player100 eliminated", "Rostmeister [100] eliminated" could now be displayed. Eliminated players in streamer mode are now shown as "Streamer [###]".
  • The options "Volume dialog", "Global chat" and "Automatically create better items" have been removed, as they are of no use in Battle Royale.
  • A new solemn sound effect and animation will now play on an Epic Victory.
  • Using the “Play again” button, players in the shop, in the Battle Pass and in the locker can now preview the graphics and sound effects of pickaxes.
  • In the statistics screen at the end of a match, the XP sources are now listed via new, faster animations.

Bug fixes

  • Map markers will now reappear when removed and then placed back in the same place.
  • Statistics at the end of a match are now displayed in the correct number format on all platforms.
  • The button assignments for weapons and construction functions are now correctly displayed in the HUD.
  • A typographical error in the description of the “Victory Round” harvesting tool has been corrected (English version).
  • Input with a controller no longer fails in the main menu.
  • Fixed UI inconsistencies that could sometimes occur when placing traps.
  • The "Distance covered" in the match statistics is now calculated correctly.

Friends

Bug fixes

  • Blocked players are no longer suggested as friends.
  • The "Epic Friends" button is now displayed in the main menu on Windows and Mac when using a controller.

Graphics and animations

Bug fixes

  • The resuscitation animation will no longer be skipped if the player reloaded when he went down.
  • Effects are now properly displayed when jumping with the Pot of Gold Harvesting Tool.
  • Spray motifs can no longer influence objects from emotes (e.g. the basketball from ball art).

Repeat function

  • "Camera type" has been translated as "Camera type" in the settings.

Bug fixes

  • Controllers no longer vibrate continuously when repetitions are paused.
  • The main menu no longer loses its functionality if you open the friends list during a paused repetition.
  • Name tags no longer block camera settings.
  • Name tags no longer disappear when the camera is directly over a player.
  • The lower part of the name tag is no longer cut off.
  • Name tags on PS4 now also show the team number and weapon.
  • Weapon animations are now also played if you quickly change the playback time.
  • On PS4 and Xbox One, marks no longer disappear from the playback timeline for saved replays.
  • Graphic and sound effects from shopping carts are no longer incorrectly reproduced.
  • In replays where players are killed while being revived or near a shopping cart, the "Revive" and "Drive" prompts no longer persist.

Bug fixes

  • The infrared assault rifle with telescopic sight now has the correct graphic effects on all devices.
  • Passengers in vehicles can now trigger remote ignition charges.
  • If you switch to build mode while holding the attack button, it will no longer negatively affect your ability to build.
  • The condition and shield numbers are no longer displayed as your own while observing.

 


Fortnite - save the world

General

  • Blockbuster is over and the road trip event begins! Every 500 blockbuster tickets have been converted to a blockbuster llama, and if there are a few tickets left, there is also a llama for them.
  • In the weekly shop, VORTEIL-FIX, unusual VORTEIL-PLUS and rare VORTEIL-PLUS can now also be available at any time.
  • Starting July 17th, Save the World will be on sale for a limited time on Xbox, PS4 and PC. Superdeluxe Founder's Packs and Limited Founder's Packs will be available again for the duration of the special.
    • Friend Codes are no longer included in Founder's Packs and have been replaced with Tokens (Legendary Troll Treasure Llama).
    • All players who are already founders will receive stamps in V.5.0, depending on their founding edition, as a thank you for staying loyal to us.

Missions and Systems

  • The Horde Challenge is back!
    • Now you can challenge the horde in the desert! This map is less extensive, which means that the distances between the waves should be shorter from base to base. So you should have more time for building and manufacturing.
    • In the Horde challenge, the storm behaves in a new way. Keep waves of hulls at bay as the storm approaches.
      • Players in the storm take damage.
      • The storm is reset for each wave.
    • Horde Challenge Missions are now unlocked based on your progress in Storm Shield Defense or based on your progress in Horde Missions. This means that players who are busy with Twine Peaks should have the whole Horde Challenge map unlocked. Nevertheless, you still have to unlock the individual challenges in the horde missions in order.
    • The total number of Horde Challenge missions on the map has been reduced from 16 to 9.
    • There are now a total of 5 challenges per horde mission. So far, the number of challenges could vary from 3 to 8.
    • The number of waves per challenge has been reduced from 10 to 8.
    • The maximum duration of each wave has been reduced from 6 to 4 minutes.
    • There is no more loot from enemies and from containers in the Horde challenge.
    • Resource allocation has been revised in Horde Challenge:
      • Horde Challenge Missions will now give you an Uncommon Assault Rifle and Uncommon Assault Rifle Low Level Sword to jumpstart your game so you can get started right away in early missions.
      • The starting ammunition has been increased so that you are better equipped for the now more difficult first Horde mission.
      • You can now get fewer building materials, ammunition and crafting materials from the horde skill tree.
    • The following mission alerts are available for the Horde Challenge:
      • Alerts granting you road trip tickets that you can use to get road trip llamas.
      • Alerts that grant you skill points for the Horde skill tree.
      • Frequency: 10 per day.
    • Progressive horde missions can be found in the missions under the separate category of the road trip event. Through them, you can earn:
      • Road trip tickets
      • V-Bucks
      • Benefit resources
      • Epic and legendary Wild West heroes that you can choose from.
      • exclusive banners to challenge the hordes
    • Repeatable missions for the Horde Challenge grant you either Hero XP, Sketch XP, or Survivor XP.
    • Perk swirler materials are now awarded through the Horde challenge. Play horde missions and earn VORTEIL-FIX! and VORTEIL-PLUS! in larger quantities than you get through campaign missions.
    • Mutant Storm Mission Alerts are now active.
    • Elemental Storm Mission Alerts are also available.
  • Road trip llamas are now available for the event. A llama costs 500 road trip tickets. Each of them is guaranteed to contain at least one flintlock weapon or Wild West hero of epic or better rarity for a limited time!
  • The following Mission Alert Rewards are now increased:
    • FEUER-PLUS !, NATUR-PLUS !, FROST-PLUS: Twice as often.
    • VORTEIL-FIX !: 50 % more often.
    • ADVANTAGE-PLUS !: 30–33 % more often.
  • Completed storm missions can now VORTEIL-FIX! and VORTEIL-PLUS! grant.

Heroes

  • Balanced skills!
    • The skills have been balanced and are now more effective in relation to weapons, traps and other sources of damage as well as versatile items. We have also made healing benefits stronger. The result was the following adjustments:

      • Base healing value increased from 3 to 5.
    • War cry
      • Damage tokens increased from 30 % to 45 %.
      • Ranged attack speed bonus reduced from 40 % to 30 %.
      • Melee attack speed bonus increased from 16 % to 20 %.

      • Warcry energy cost reduction improved from 15 to 20.
    • Fight or run away
      • Fighting or Leaving now increases movement speed by 10 %.
    • Shock wave
      • Base damage increased from 75 to 91.
      • Cooldown reduced from 30 seconds to 25 seconds.
    • Force
      • Increased radius bonus from 38 % to 50 %.
    • Shock strategy
      • Slow increased from 30 % to 50 %.

      • Cooldown reduced from 150 to 100 seconds.

      • Base cooldown reduced from 60 to 45 seconds.

      • Base healing value increased from 3 to 19.

      • Movement speed bonus increased from 30 % to 50 %.
    • Tail of the dragon
      • Damage per tick increased from 10 to 12.
    • Throwing stars
      • Projectile speed increased by 70 %.
      • Base damage increased from 35 to 52.
    • Poison stars
      • Now tick per second to align with other sources of suffering damage, and damage has been adjusted accordingly.
    • Hearty blades
      • Base healing value increased from 12 to 30.
    • Heavy blows
      • Base healing value increased from 10 to 24.
  • Explorer
    • Phase change
      • Phase change is supposed to support faster movements. The following changes are intended to make it more competitive with other movement abilities that also deal damage.
        • Teleport range increased from 1.5625 to 1.75 tiles.
        • Cost reduced from 20 to 10 stamina.
        • Cooldown decreased from 15 seconds to 8 seconds.
        • Increased charges from 2 to 3.
        • Now grants +30 % movement speed for 3 seconds.
    • Phase forward
      • Increases range from 1.75 to 2.5 tiles.

      • Additional charges increased from 1 to 2.
    • End of phase
      • Changed the cooldown reduction from 5 to 3 to better match the new basic cooldown.
    • Phase shield
      • Changed duration from 4 to 2 to better match the new basic cooldown.
    • Phase runner
      • Now increases the movement speed bonus of Phase Shift to 50 %.
    • TEDDY
      • Base damage per shot increased from 10 to 16.
      • Cost decreased from 50 to 30 stamina.
    • Beariness
      • Base damage increased to 26 from 22.
    • Overwhelming (now "Overwhelming")
      • Bonus range increased from 1 to 2 tiles.
    • Electric shock tower
      • The electroshock tower should be particularly useful for taking out large groups of weak hulls, but so far it has not done that well. That's why we increased the damage on Shock Tower and decreased the cooldown. It doesn't stand there that long, but you will be able to place it more often. We've also reduced the stun duration slightly to pave the way for the other improvements.
        • Cooldown decreased from 60 seconds to 20 seconds.
        • Cost decreased from 50 to 30 stamina.
        • Base damage increased from 9 to 12.
        • Stun duration reduced from 1 second to 0.75 seconds.
        • Duration reduced from 6 seconds to 3 seconds.
    • Electric shock
      • Impact bonus from 133 % to 160 %. elevated
    • capacitor
      • Reduced duration extension from 2 seconds to 1 second to better match the new base duration.
    • Super capacitor
      • Reduced duration extension from 2 seconds to 1 second to better match the new base duration.
    • Shocking hug
      • Reduced duration extension from 3 to 2 seconds to better match the new base duration.
    • Static charge
      • Damage over time increased from 50 % to 110 % of initial damage.
      • Damage duration reduced from 6 seconds to 3 seconds.
    • Anti-material charge
      • We felt that anti-material cargo did poorly at resource gathering. So we've increased the base damage and decreased the cost and cooldown to make the ability more effective when gathering and more useful in combat.
        • Width doubled.
        • Base damage increased to 90 from 39.
        • Cooldown decreased from 30 seconds to 12 seconds.
        • Cost decreased from 35 to 30 stamina.
    • Cost for strike (now "strike costs")
      • Cost reduction decreased from 15 to 10 to better match the new base cost.
    • Fist of the south moon
      • Cooldown reduction decreased from 13 to 5 to better match the new base cooldown.
    • Strike against building (now "structure strike")
      • Cooldown reduction reduced from 7 to 3 and cost reduction reduced from 7 to 5, better you fit the new core values of cooldown and cost.
    • Kinetic strike (not the support variant)
      • Increased push strength to better push away large enemies.
    • Charged fist
      • Has gone from a 3-star benefit to a 2-star benefit.
      • Percentage damage increase from up to 200 % reduced to up to 150 % to better match the new base damage.
        • The resulting maximum base damage increases from 117 to 225, whereby the standard base damage is taken into account.
    • Iron knuckles
      • No longer causes vulnerability.
      • Percentage damage increase decreased from 500 % to 150 % to better match the new base damage.
        • The misleading wording in the tooltip has been corrected.
          • The previous tooltop indicated that the damage was increased BY 500 % and not TO 500 %.
          • The new tooltip still speaks of “increased by”, but this is still correct, as the base damage is increased by 150 % (250 % of the base damage).
          • Together with the normal base damage, the base damage increases to a total of 195 to 225.
          • Overall, the damage of the benefit has increased compared to the previous version.
  • constructor
    • Bull storm
      • Base damage increased to 156 from 60.
      • Cooldown decreased from 30 seconds to 15 seconds.
      • Cost reduced to 20 from 30.
      • Width of shield collision area increased by 43 %.
    • China shop
      • Base damage to surroundings increased from 282 to 688.
    • Bull rage
      • Increased damage bonus for metal weapons from 45 % to 55 %.
    • Long rush
      • Added new effect: at the end of the bull storm, movement speed increases by 30 % for 10 seconds.
    • Sling shield
      • Added new effect: During the onslaught, the designer takes 60 % less damage.
        • Previous effect of sling shield has been removed.
    • Plasma pulse
      • Base damage increased from 14 to 18.
      • Duration reduced from 10 to 6 seconds.
    • Plasma pulse wave
      • Base damage increased to 145 from 125.
    • IFF coding
      • Shield regeneration increased from 15 % to 20 % of normal regeneration.
    • Dr. Base
      • Condition regeneration increased from 2 % to 4 % of the maximum condition.
    • BAIT
      • Hitbox downsized to better fit the size of the bait.
      • Cooldown decreased from 45 seconds to 30 seconds.
    • Lubricate the wheels
      • Cooldown reduction reduced to 10 from 15.
    • Kinetic overload
      • Base damage increased to 140 from 50.
      • Has no longer any cooldown.
    • Take it easy
      • Slow increased from 30 % to 40 %.
    • Heavy blows
      • Base healing value increased from 12 to 49.
  • Road trip llamas now include Wild West heroes!
    • Soldier - New sub-class "Rapid Shooters" has been added along with the new character Rio.
      • Description: After reloading, do more damage with the first shot, followed by a rapid burst of fire.
      • New advantages
        • Locked and reloaded: After reloading, the rate of fire increases by 25 % for 5 seconds.
        • Locked and reloaded: Increases the additional rate of fire from "Locked and reloaded" to 50 %.
        • First attack: The first bullet fired after reloading an assault rifle hits critically. Effect expires after changing weapons.
      • New tactical advantage:
        • Battle-tested (tactical variant)
    • Ninja - New subclass "Explosive Assassin" has been added for the character Ken.
      • Description: A ninja specializing in swords who collects assassination stacks for a burst of energy and uses smoke bombs to keep stacks high.
      • New advantage:
        • Assassination Juice: Smoke Bomb now generates a stack of assassination attempts every second as long as the ninja is in its area of effect.
        • Endless Smoke: Increases the radius of Smoke Bomb by 45 %.
        • Assassination Discharge: When assassination reaches 5 stacks, it explodes, dealing energy damage within 0.5 tiles. After the explosion, all assassination stacks are removed.
      • New tactical advantage:
        • Assassination (tactical variant)
    • Constructor - New subclass "Classic Tech" has been added for the character Penny.
      • Description: A designer who uses Plasma Pulse to blanket entire areas with plasma attacks.
      • New advantage:
        • Plasma Overload: Increases the radius of damage caused by Plasma Pulse Orbs by 60 %.
        • Plasma Pulse Malfunction now generates 8 plasma spheres, dealing 550 additional % damage. The plasma balls all arise at the same time and explode after 10 seconds if they are not triggered.
    • Explorer - New subclass "Chaos Fragment" has been added for the character Deadeye.
      • Description: Agile explorer who collects large quantities of fragments in order to be able to use reinforced TEDDYs repeatedly.
      • New advantage:
        • Found something: Start missions with 3 load fragments.
        • Bear Charge: TEDDY's damage is increased by 50 % when placed with a fragment.
        • Double Charge: There is a 50 chance of % finding an additional Charge Fragment when you pick up a Fragment.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed an issue with the stun gun that caused it to fire one less shot than intended.
  • Fixed an issue where Electric Shock Tower impact would not scale properly.
  • The maximum number of charges is now specified in the phase change tooltip.

Weapons and objects

  • The hammer "Verdrescher" is now in the event shop:
    • A massive hammer that can be swung slowly and in a wide arc.
    • Jump Attack: Heavy attack in which you jump towards the targeted enemy, dealing damage and knocking away nearby enemies.
  • The flintlock weapon set has been added and can be found in Roadtrip Llamas:
    • Old Betsy: An accurate sniper rifle with a lot of oomph, but also noticeable during recoil. Only one cartridge can be loaded at a time.
    • Duelist: Revolver that fires slowly and with powerful recoil, dealing high head shot damage and knocking targets away.
    • Dragoons: Heavy, short-range shotgun that deals damage in a wide cone area and knocks away enemies.
    • Fishhook: Slow, heavy scythe that covers a wide area and has a whirlwind attack.
    • Eulerich the Third: Slow, heavy club with great kicking potential and a home run attack.
  • Adrenaline rush
    • Healing value increased from 180 to 215.
  • Air strike
    • Cooldown reduced from 300 to 215 seconds.
  • Hover gun turret
    • Base shot rate of the hover turret of 6 / sec. to 4 / sec. decreased, and the upgraded rate of fire of 10 / sec. to 6 / sec. elevated.
    • Shots from the hover turret now deal energy damage, but no longer cause impact.
    • Base damage of hover turret explosion increased from 114 to 162.
  • Proximity mine
    • Increased damage from 225 to 230.
    • Reload time reduced from 240 to 200 seconds.

Bug fixes

  • Weapons are now properly packed away when the player goes down.
  • Fixed an issue where sticky grenades could get caught in midair on destroyed anomaly shards.
  • Fixed an issue where the Shadow Shard Krypton Sword had the wrong values.
  • The explosion radius of all levels of the proximity mine has been corrected - to 1 tile, 1.25 tiles and 1.5 tiles.

Gameplay

  • The effectiveness of energy damage against elemental shells increased from 67 % to 75 %.
  • The default running speed has been increased from 365 to 410. The sprint speed remains unchanged.
  • Players who have fallen to the ground can now move.
  • Players who went down have been graphically adjusted to provide more clarity.
  • In order to complete the missions "Trololo" and "Revenge of the Trolls", only one troll has to be beaten up.
  • The following repeatable missions are now available and will grant perk materials upon completion:
    • Hazards in the fog
    • fire and flame
    • Forces of nature
    • A watery grave
  • The "Killer Storms" quest is now available and grants gold upon completion.

user interface

  • Bag Llamas no longer automatically open when you go to the Loot tab. To open it, press either the button with the quantity information directly below the llama or the corresponding button in the bar at the bottom. Llamas bought there will still be opened automatically.

Bug fixes

  • TEDDY's voice module has been upgraded and now speaks Fortnite correctly when analyzing player reports.
  • If players are banned while in a match, they will now receive a notification.
  • The rejoin window will now automatically close when the player is banned.
  • Previous players, with whom you only interact via the main menu, now also appear in the list of players that you can report.
  • Daily job information is now updated when the job is canceled.
  • The controller input has been corrected for the defender post.
  • Fixed issues with switching building types where players would sometimes place the wrong building type, especially if the connection was poor (poor latency).
  • With the button assignment Baumeister Pro, the wrong part of the building is no longer placed if the players have selected a part of the building and switch to another while keeping the button pressed.
