The one presented today New Game Plus Mode for Shadow of the Tomb Raider promises new motivation even with multiple playthroughs. No matter how good the first two parts of the Lara Croft reboot were, once you had played them through and maybe even the 100% was full with all collections, relics, etc., there was little reason to play them again.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider - 3 new paths
This should be different for the final part of the trilogy, which will be released on September 14th. The New Game Plus mode not only takes over your hard-earned weapons, skills, outfits, equipment including all upgrades, but also brings 3 new specialization paths.
- Serpent Path
- Jaguar (Jaguar) Path
- Eagle Path
Each of the 3 paths focuses on a different area of the game.
At the Snake path it's mostly about sneaking and deceiving. You kill your opponents from ambush and confuse them with tricks and distractions. Camouflaged with mud and other aids, they will only see you when it is too late and you have already disappeared back into the shadows.
The Jaguar's path focuses on hunting and direct combat. You pounce on your opponents with fierce determination and thanks to your agility and hand-to-hand combat skills you kill them with your knife and appropriate finishers.
The third and last Path is that of the eagle here the first description of the Shadow of the Tomb Raider developers is a bit vague. You observe your opponents from a distance and plan your course of action. The eagle path should also facilitate your travel / locomotion. The main focus here seems to be on ranged attacks like the bow.
In addition to the new skills, the New Game Plus also expects new weapons and outfits that match the respective paths and promote the corresponding play style.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider hits September 14th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Pre-order are allowed to start the adventure 2 days earlier.
