The League of Legends Spring Season was ups and downs for both teams
The match Team SoloMid (TSM) against Team Liquid (TL) promises special explosiveness after a turbulent season. Team Liquid actually dominated the entire season over the table and confidently secured first place. The goal of not losing a single match for the entire season was "ruined" by TSM, who gave them their first defeat. TSM also won the direct comparison in the second leg later in the season. However, Team Liquid and Star ADC Doublelift didn't let anything burn in the playoffs and clearly defeated Team FlyQuest 3-0 in the semifinals.
TSM, on the other hand, had a rather bumpy start and suffered four losses in the first few weeks. Then the 3 newcomers had each other Broken Blade (Top), Akaadian (Jungle) and Smoothie (Support) settled in and TSM only lost one of the next 10 matches against Cloud9. This enabled TSM to secure their place in the playoffs and to beat their arch-rivals Cloud9 3-2 in the semifinals. Cloud9 was already 2-0 up in the best-of-5 series until TSM was able to play its way into the final with 3 wins in a row.
Bet for $ 100,000
Team SoloMid and Team Liquid will meet there today and the hype in the fan scene was fueled even more by a bet by the two team owners. TSM Andy "Reginal" Dinh and TL Steve "LiQuiD112" Arhancet met on the talk show Hotline League and agreed on a "small" bet.
