Code Vein is increasingly becoming a beacon of hope for fans of the Soulsborn Genre (Dark Souls & Bloodborne). The trailers and videos published so far clearly whet the appetite for more, while at the same time showing the innovations and the cool new setting. Code Vein is clearly inspired by the Soulsborne games, but not a boring copy.
For example is the Computer controlled companionthat helps us explore and fight, one of those innovations. Depending on who is accompanying us, the partner has individual skills and fighting styles and offers different amounts of help.
A new video about Mia, The companion with the eccentric hat and rifle from the concept drawings is now also available:
These companions are now also the starting point for a possible one Multiplayer mode. The second player could slip into the companion and take control. The restrictions that will apply are not yet known.
In the Dark Souls Multiplayer / cooperation only existed in an unusual version. Players could leave Summoning Marks in the game world and then be Summoned. As a phantom they then helped for a limited time or until, for example, the boss of the area had fought. Communication was only possible through gestures, which was very unusual on the one hand, but also often led to very amusing experiences. Almost all Dark Souls veterans have a story in store with funny incidents when a phantom showed a cool cosplay or had crazy actions.
Code Vein - focus system for tough battles
Bandai Namco also revealed something new about the combat system. The "focus“System will allow you to receive temporary bonuses in combat. This is best used in hopeless situations when one is surrounded. Thanks to the focus system, you can then better dodge or launch your own devastating attack and, for example, throw the enemy into the air.
Code Vein will be released for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in early 2018.
