The Dark Souls Remastered Version caused divided reactions in the community, now the date for the announced Switch version is finally here.

The switch version will appear on 19th October 2018 and brings the much sought-after Solare of Astora Amiibo. The PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One version of the classic Remaster was released on May 25 of this year.

The Dark Souls Remastered Version mainly offers graphical improvements and very few playful features. There was a newly implemented multiplayer mode and earlier problem areas such as Blighttown no longer reduce the FPS to 5.

There were no improvements to the gameplay itself. Lost Izalith is still Lost Izalith and there were no changes to the game mechanics on the Bed of Chaos.

Dark Souls Remaster is not without controversy

In the community the reaction was to Dark Souls Remastered ambivalent, for the veterans the changes were too small and do not justify the new purchase. Even the reduced price for the Steam version, if you owned the earlier Dark Souls - Prepare to Die version, couldn't change that for many.

Conversely, the players who are new to the Dark Souls universe are enthusiastic. Finally a stable version with improved graphics and 60 FPS, without the need to install extra mods.

The multiplayer community is also very popular and you can explore the world with friends or fight exciting PVP duels without major problems or waiting times.

The Switch version has the advantage that you can play on the go and beat up Ornstein and Smough in the subway.
