The 2nd half of the year and with it the release of the Necromancer for Diablo 3 is getting closer and closer. After balancing updates to the Necromancer's skills on a regular basis over the past few weeks, Blizzard released two intro videos for the Necromancer today.
In the usual cool drawing style of the main game, we are shown the opening sequence of the male and female necromancer. As priests of Rathma we follow the cycle of life in which everything that lives must also die. What blossoms must perish and produce and nourish the next generation.
Diablo's machinations in Tristram disrupt this cycle and the necromancers set out to bed the dead back to rest. Because if this cycle is interrupted, then the end of all things is near.
With this in mind, it is understandable why a class that deals with death, corpses and zombies is against Diablo. Instead of, as one might suspect, celebrating and supporting him as the new master.
Diablo 3 - expansion with additional features
The expansion / DLC "Return of the Necromancer" will offer additional features in addition to the new character class for Diabl 3. Among other things, 2 additional loot chest compartments, two more character slots and many cosmetic rewards such as banners and pets.
Patch 2.6.0 in the course of which the expansion will be released also offers new content for everyone, such as the Challenge Rifts / Challenge portals. In these you can try out the character builds of other players in a rift that changes every week.
There is no release date for "Return of the Necromancer" yet. The phrase "getting closer" in Blizzard's announcement gives hope that it won't last too long.
But you don't have to count on less than 4 weeks, such a large patch will not be implemented during a current season. For the current 10th Diablo 3 season, the end would have to be announced (at least 4 weeks lead time).
The video with the male necromancer can be found at the beginning of the article. You can find the female variant here on Blizzard's YouTube Channel.
