Here is the official message:
Hey Fortnite Community!
We're excited to announce that Fortnite Battle Royale is available on Nintendo Switch starting today. We can't wait to board the battle bus with you Nintendo fans!
The game will be made available for all regions today via Nintendo eShop. North America is already activated. Worldwide, the game will be available at 11:00 p.m. CEST / 9:00 p.m. UTC.
Fortnite Battle Royale is the same game on Nintendo Switch that is seen on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Mac and mobile devices. Same gameplay, map, content, and weekly updates. With the Switch you can team up with your friends from all corners of the world and even gamble on the go.

Fortnite - No crossplay with PS4 players
A precarious topic, however, is cross-play, i.e. the interaction between different platforms. For example, it is possible that Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PC and mobile players can get started together.
In contrast, the cross-play between Switch and PlayStation 4 blocked. In the past, Sony has reacted similarly to other titles (e.g. Minecraft and Rocket League) and does not allow cross-play with Nintendo consoles. In addition, in the case of Fortnite there is probably the problem with the Epic account that is necessary for playing. If you have linked your Epic account to your PSN username, you can no longer add your Switch account.
A lot could be written about this Sony decision. However, any company with similar market dominance would probably act in the same way. Even if it becomes a disadvantage for some customers.
