Code Vein - 17 minute gameplay video

Code Vein

Anyone who slowly shows withdrawal symptoms after the conclusion of the Dark Souls saga has certainly already suffered Code Vein heard. The new title from Bandai Namco does not offer a continuation of the popular series, but it can with a Dark Souls a similar feeling of play.

The colleagues from IGN have published a 17 minute gameplay video and demonstrate how different or how similar Code Vein is compared to Dark Souls. You don't have to worry about spoilers of the story, the developers designed the demo level especially for the press and therefore don't show any information about the story. The first impression is that the gameplay is a bit slower than, for example, Bloodborne and is more in the direction of the original Dark Souls 1. This means that the fights allow a little more time for carefully considered attacks and evasive actions and don't degenerate into hectic pushing buttons.

Code Vein - The Background Story

Set in a dystopian future in which humanity was destroyed and the abandoned skyscrapers and cities are only lifeless witnesses of an earlier, better world.

The few survivors, revenants, are united in a secret society: Vein.

Vein is also the name of the final refuge enclosed by the lost. The revenants have superhuman, vampire-like powers for which they have traded their memories. The revenants who give in to their thirst for blood or who lose too many memories become lost.

The player takes on a revenant in Vein who sets out to uncover his story and want to regain his memories. One of several suits him Companions aside to accompany him on his journey and help in battle.

In the video you can see how the companion resuscitates the hero in the event of an early death, thus enabling him to continue playing. Of course, this ability is not always available. Other companions have individual skills.

Code Vein will be released in 2018 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. As always, you can find the video at the beginning of the article.
