If you are the co-founder of Riot, the publisher of the world's largest mob League of Legends then a tiny tweet can spark a huge discussion. So had Marc Merril with the little question: "Should we do an MMO?" caused a stir among the players.
Should we build a MMO? Yay or nay? https://t.co/doZs8zkLNX

League of Legends - World Map of Runeterra
The reason for this was the publication of the Runeterra world map. Finally, fans can take a detailed look at the world of Runeterra and see where their favorite heroes come from. Thanks to the richness of detail of the interactive map and clickable cities or states, you learn a lot about the background to League of Legends.
For some time now, Riot has been expanding its universe homepage. There are sometimes entire short stories about the heroes, especially if they were recently revised. Even the big events of recent years like Bilgewater or recently that Arch-rival event with Garen and Darius, bring more and more stories from Runeterra with them. Especially the arch-rival event for the release of the new legendary skins was very well received by the fans with many quests and tasks.
Due to the now very extensive background story, the idea is to use this for other games as well and especially in MMO it could benefit immensely. After all, already used Blizzard the Warcraft 1 to 3 stories for their MMO hit World of Warcraft. So a “Word of League” offshoot would make perfect sense. With well over 100 million players in League of Legends, there are many potential buyers.
