Impact on the League of Legends World Cup 2018
As in 2017, the 4 best regions of the MSI will receive the 4 top places in the World Championship group phase. In addition, the best-placed region from BR, CIS, JPN, LAN, LAS, OCE, SEA, TUR and VN will send their representative to the group stage. If 2 of the regions from the above pool end up in the top 4 teams of MSI, both will be sent to the group stage. In this case the play-in phase is adjusted accordingly.
