This weekend, the teams' final meetings in Riot's League of Legends North America League took place. This means that it is clear which teams qualified for the playoffs this season and who has to go into relegation.
The teams of the European LCS have their last game day of the season in the coming week from March 30th to April 1st.
Team SoloMid was able to win over with a clear 2-0 Phoenix1 secure the top spot in North America and thus have a bye for the quarterfinals. The team is now in the semi-finals and awaits the winner of the match between Counter Logic Gaming and Flyquest.
It was clearly noted in Team SoloMid that the players really wanted to make up for the surprising loss on Friday against Team Liquid. Accordingly, Team Phoenix1 saw few opportunities and the players from Team SoloMid never gave up the reins. With this convincing victory, TSM made it clear that they are contenders for the title this season as well. Since the LCS was launched in 2013, the team has dominated the North American league and has already won 4 of 8 titles, so the fifth could be added this spring.
As a runner-up in the league was able to Cloud9 qualify directly for the 2nd quarter-finals and must play against the winner of the match Phoenix1 against Team Dignitas.
Team Liquid despite the euphoria after their victory over TSM on Friday, unfortunately could not win against Team FlyQuest. FlyQuest won the match 2-1 and Team Liquid has to be content with 9th place in the league. Together with Team Envy, the 10th placed team, they now face the relegation battle for relegation.
League of Legends Spring Split - Playoff dates

The first semi-final will follow on April 15 Cloud9 and a day later, on April 16th, it's time for Team SoloMid to prove yourself.
The grand finale will take place on April 23, 2017 instead and maybe the North American classic awaits us again: Team SoloMid against Cloud9.
