After this Cinematic trailer last week developer Monolith has now published a gameplay video of Middle-earth: Shadow of War on their Youtube Channel.

Based on the mission to free the mountain Seregost from Sauron's hordes, the developers demonstrate the gameplay.

Led by Overlord Ur-Hakon the Dragon Lord, there are tons of enemies in our way. Since the mission is from the later game, we already have our own army at our side. We have defeated their leaders in previous missions and forced them under our power. As in Part 1, these leaders and their attitude towards us are what makes Middle-earth: Shadow of War special. As a result, not only slaughter yourself through nameless hordes, but always encounter such mini-bosses. Thanks to the Nemesis System, our actions have concrete effects. Whether we kill them or force them under our control and thus win helpers for later, the further course of the game makes it easier or more difficult for us.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War

Middle-earth: Shadow of War offers more role-playing elements than its predecessor

In the course of the mission we are shown the various possibilities to take the mountain fortress. As an alternative to a frontal attack, we target archers by sneaking or use previously smuggled spies as snipers. When killing the necromancer Thrak-Stormbringer, the more extensive role-playing elements are also noticeable. In the loot you will find an epic armor from Rohan that you can put on directly.

In the further course of the battle you ride through a sea of flames, dominate the dragon pet of the overlord and turn it against the enemy. Intimidated by this destruction, the last war chief of the orcs is forced under our control and the way to the master of the fortress is free.

The countless details such as the individually furnished throne room by Overlord Ur-Hakon show how much attention to detail the Nemesis System was created with. The developers offer every player a personal adventure that should be as unique as possible. As a result, the effects of the players' decisions should be visible in as many places as possible. How much of these full-bodied announcements will actually be implemented and also relevant to the game remains to be seen.

Finally, at the end of the trailer, after we have eliminated the overlord, we choose a new overlord from among our army.

The bottom line is a visually really terrific demonstration of the game and whoever liked the first part Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor will long for the release date for Shadow of War.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War will be released on August 22, 2017 for Xbox One, Project Scorpio, Windows 10 PC and Playstation 4.
