For Lord of the Rings fans, Middle-earth: Shadow of War and its predecessor, Shadows of Mordor, is a perfect look at the stories that weren't told in the books. All the supporting characters and their backstory have been preoccupying the fans for a long time. The developers take the liberty of embellishing these previously untold stories. This creates a new, slightly changed story in the games that could well have been.
Middle-earth: Shadow of War - Shelob, the spider or seductress?
For example Shelob, the spider that ambushed Frodo and Sam on the way to Mordor and made Frodo's captivity with the orcs. Not much is known about them yet. Shelob is said to have lived in the tunnels before the first stone was set by Barad-dûr. Nobody was her ruler and she lives by her own laws. No matter if humans, elves or the orcs from Sauron's army, they all served as food.
In the Shadow of War Shelob Reveal Trailer, she shows that she can transform herself into human form and appear as a seductive woman. Thalion and the fused spirit of the elven blacksmith Celembrimbor meet Shelob on their vengeance against Sauron. With visions she seems to want to drive a wedge between Celembrimbor and Thalion and is obviously pursuing her own goals.
Shadow of War is the successor to Shadows of Mordor and offers fast-paced action, while as Thalion you face the armies of Mordor with sword, dagger and bow. The campaign is fought with both sneaking and targeted attacks from ambush, as well as slaughtering dozens of orcs. In order to reach the end goal and conquer Mordor, one manipulates the armies of Sauron thanks to the revised and expanded Nemesis system
Thalion can bring Orc commanders under their own control and make them more and more powerful by deliberately eliminating their enemies. As a result, they move up the hierarchy of the army and you have strong allies who put their army in our service. With this help we then start the conquest of Mordor in order to personally carry out our revenge on Sauron, the dark ruler.
