With the top games released in the past few weeks, one would have expected NieR: Automata to only play a marginal role. When the competition is Zelda, Mass Effect or Dark Souls 3: The Ringed City, even good titles sometimes go under.
Luckily proves us NieR: Automata the contrary. The insider tip holds up well and publisher Square Enix announced today that the 1 million copy sales mark has been broken. The title was developed by Square Enix in collaboration with PlatinumGames under the direction of Taro Yoko.
Since the release on March 17th, the game has received nothing but positive reviews. The fast, action-packed story about the android "2B", who is supposed to recapture the earth on behalf of the displaced humanity, provides long-term motivation with several endings.
Playing through it once is not enough, after the finale you can experience the story from the perspective of different characters in further rounds. Also new information opens up which allow insights into the true background.

For many players and critics, the soundtrack is one of the best ever. Together with the in-depth story, which often makes the player think, the extraordinary background music ensures a special gaming experience. The contact to the developers and graphic designers is gratifyingly open. For example, character modeling artist Hito Matsudaira posted an extensive one yesterday Blog about the creation of the main character "2B". In it, he demonstrates the process in great detail, from the first concept drawing to the finished textured in-game model.
NieR: Automata was released on March 17th for PC and Playstation 4.
