Just a few weeks after the Japan release of NieR: Automata, the release for the rest of the world is now approaching. Thus the reviews of western testers also roll in and so far draw a very positive 90% and an upward picture of NieR: Automata.
The innovative mix of different genres such as hack & slash, role play and shoot'em up provides around 30 hours of entertainment. The title is set in a post-apocalyptic world and follows the 4th end of the predecessor NieR from 2010. The remnants of mankind fight against the machine invaders of a strange world. Forced to retreat to the moon, people develop androids themselves to face the invaders.
The main character is one of these YoRHa androids: the female “No. 2 Model B “or also called 2B. Although they have no emotions as androids, the YoRHa differ in their character traits.
Protagonist 2B is characterized by composure and calm. In contrast, the accompanying reconnaissance droid "9S" is more noticeable through emotional outbursts. In contrast, their commander "A2" shows an outdated prototype, rather reluctance.
So this very different trio sets out to support the resistance on earth and give humanity a new chance.
