Super Nintendo Entertainment System Classic Edition

The golden age of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System - SNES - begins again. With the release of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System Classic Edition, Nintendo is releasing the classics of the cult console. 21 classics are permanently installed on the console, including a game that has never been fully released.

The games of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System Classic Edition

The list of included games:

With Final Fantasy VI (released in the West as FF3 at the time), Mega Man X, Secret of Mana and Super Mario RPG, there are a number of cult games in the list.

Star Fox 2 has never been published before. At that time the publication was canceled because the Nintendo 64 introduced a new generation of consoles.

The new SNES is identical to the original console, only smaller. It can be connected to modern televisions via HDMI cable. According to Nintendo, the scope of delivery will include 2 Super NES Classic Controllers.

Just like the NES 2016, the new SNES will only be available for a limited time. The new edition cost 69 € at the time, for the SNES only the price of 79 US dollars is known.

The community hopes that this time significantly more devices will be made available than with the NES. At that time the existing devices were sold out within a very short time and many copies ended up on Ebay through private resellers - at the outrageous price of 300 €.

Hopefully Nintendo has drawn the conclusions from this and the release of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System Classic Edition will be easier. For the US, sales are scheduled to start on September 29th and the console will cost $ 79.
