The big 3.0 patch is imminent and there are definitely many newbies who take a first look Path of Exile want to risk. The veterans among you have to adjust to a vastly changed game and many new challenges.
Which new character builds will turn out to be "overpowered" and which will not remain to be seen. A lot of exciting new builds will also only come with the new Skill Gems and Supporter Gems.
For many players, this phase of "uncertainty" is the most exciting of all, experiment in the dark and just have fun. Some others would like a little guide to get them off to a fresh start Harbinger League or Path of Exile, not to be completely abandoned. Even if a character cannot be completely "messed up", in case of doubt you can simply take the items and earned currency for a new character and be on the same level in record time.
Regardless of your attitude, we have put together some starter guides that will be kept up to date for Patch 3.0.0. The authors of these guides are all still active and continue to improve their tips. The articles are updated with videos and adjustments to the new circumstances. If you follow one of these guides, you are sure to have a solid start. Depending on the version, you can later upgrade the character for the absolute endgame and tier 15 maps, Atziri, Shaper etc.
All the selected guides have in common that you hardly ever need special unique items, but can get by with things that you have found or made yourself. If you then start trading or if you are lucky enough to find the right Unique, this is of course a nice bonus. But you don't have to worry about the first levels and playing through the 10 acts.
Path of Exile - Builds for Every Class
Shadow - Fire Nova Mine
Very cheap in equipment and very safe. You run around while the monsters run into your mines and die Novae from the triggered fires.
Marauder - Righteous Burning Totem
A tried and tested and popular build where you plant burning totems and chill behind your sunglasses. Also very cheap in terms of equipment, but a disadvantage is that totems are a bit slow in the group game. But this is very rarely noticeable.
Duelist with Sunder and 3 auras
In the middle of the turmoil you fight your way with the monsters, have a choice of weapons and high DPS. There are only problems with cards with reflecting.
Scion - with Double Strike and Spectral Throw
Double Strike deals immense single target damage, while Spectral Throw takes on the larger enemy groups.
Templar - with Fireblast Totems (Pizza Sticks)
Tried and tested, the Fireblast Totems have been a stable build for many patches that works right through to the end game and is relatively easy to improve with Gear. Fireblast is a huge flame AoE effect that clears entire screens of enemies while you are busy collecting the loot.
Witch - SRS Baron Build (Summon Raging Spirits)
The most nondescript name, but probably the most powerful build. Easy to level and still endgame capable and suitable to farm the highest cards and bosses like Atziri, Uber Atziri or Shaper. A whole army of servants is doing the dirty work for you.
This should start the Path of Exile Harbinger League become child's play and the final challenges for the rewards are also easy.
