Stand on the bridge of the Enterprise once in a lifetime. Take the position of Captains Kirk, Picard or Janeway once and distribute orders to the crew. Thanks to the virtual reality game Star Trek Bridge Crew, this dream is finally coming true.
Not only the press is celebrating the new game as one of the best VR games so far, hardware manufacturer HTC is also adding a copy of the game to every HTC Vive sold from today.

Like other VR systems, the HTC Vive offers all-round equipment for displaying virtual realities. With VR glasses on your head and 2 controllers in hand, the living room suddenly becomes a new world.
The base stations use sensors to record your movements and the wireless controllers translate every gesture to your avatar in virtual reality.
Star Trek Bridge Crew - Captain on Deck!
In this case, reality consists of the bridge of a Federation starship. We command the crew of our ship from the captain's chair. While we can issue commands from our seat, we gain additional options if we jump into the navigator's seat in person. With our best Kirk imitation we control our ship better and with more options than the AI We can only give more general commands. As a result, the VR functions are implemented really excellently. You move back and forth on the bridge, face challenges and battles and are always “on the go”.
In contrast to many other VR games that only rely on shock effects, Star Trek Bridge Crew really uses the possibilities of the new medium. Of course, the game also offers a multiplayer function (maximum 4 players). Then the other crew members are replaced by players and there is a real atmosphere.
Star Trek Bridge Crew also offers quick matches and a campaign. This consists of several missions that build on each other and tell a larger background story.
Star Trek Bridge Crew was released on May 30, 2017 for HTC Vice, Playstation VR, Oculus Rift and OSVR and costs € 50. From now on, the game will be included with every HTC Vive sold for free.
At the beginning you will find a Let's Play video published by Ubisoft. It shows a rescue mission and explains the principle of the game.
