Wild Arms: Million Memories

The legendary game series of the PlayStation era Wild Arms is getting a mobile sequel Wild Arms: Million Memories. The sequel, which was announced in 2016 but has since disappeared, is set to appear this year.

Wild Arms: Million Memories - Continuation of the successful Playstation games

The Wild Arms series began in the PlayStation Era 1996 and impressed with a clever mix of wild west, steampunk, science fiction and fantasy.

Wild Arms 1, for example, hosted a 3-person party where each character was equipped with a different tool. These were necessary to complete a wide variety of tasks in the dungeons. Jack, Treasure hunter and swordsman, Hanpan had his little wind mouse at his disposal. He could send these into the smallest holes and passages, for example to open boxes or to press hidden buttons. In addition there was a lighter to light lamps and a hook with rope, with the help of which abysses could be overcome.

The other characters, Rudy and Cecilia, had similar useful tools such as small bombs, radar, rocket shoes or a magical stopwatch for turning back time. The player not only had to assert himself against the monsters, but also had to solve small puzzles. Similar to a Metroidvania game, new tools made new areas accessible. Dead ends in the first dungeons opened up areas that were previously unknown and often hidden treasures.

The very popular first part was followed by 5 more and even an anime spinoff in 1999. Since the release of Wild Arms XF for the PSP in 2007, however, there has been calm. With Wild Arms: Million Memories should that change now. In return, the original writer and designer of the series is also increasing Kaneko Akifumi himself in the chair of the game director and wants to ensure that the charm ("taste, mind and spirit") of the series is continued.

The music is from Naruke Michiko, who provided the brilliant music for the first part of the series. On the official homepage, which is unfortunately only available in Japanese so far, the new theme song Million memories be heard. The song will be released on May 16, 2018 as a CD.

Little is known about the story so far, only that characters from earlier parts should appear, but in a new story.
