Bayonetta - PC version released today

Bayonetta

The release of the PC version of Bayonetta on Steam today was quite a surprise. According to the countdown page that was switched to match the 8-bit Bayonetta April Fool's joke, the community had expected an announcement about the series today and not directly with the release. The joy of all PC gamers is now all the greater, being able to plunge directly into the world of Bayonetta 1.

Instead of the usual weeks and months of pre-order advertising and waiting, Platinum Games publishes the title directly. Whereby you can say with a clear conscience that a cult game like Bayonetta doesn't need any extra hype. Nonetheless, there are bonuses for those who make quick decisions and those who buy the game before April 25th will receive a free upgrade to the Digital Deluxe Edition. This includes a 5 song soundtrack, a digital art book and exclusive wallpapers and avatars.

The story behind Bayonetta

Hideki Kamiya is the legendary developer behind Bayonetta. Known as the director of Resident Evil and Devil May Cry, Sega is now bringing another of his masterpieces to PC.

Bayonetta is the last survivor of an ancient clan of witches who maintain the balance between light, darkness and chaos. For her own protection she is locked in a crypt and only discovered and revived 500 years later. This is the beginning of a chain of events with catastrophic consequences.

Equipped with only one clue about her past, the witch is thrown into the middle of the fight. Not only does she have to find out the truth, she also has to fight for the future. Endless hordes of enemies stand in their way.

The action game is characterized by a fighting system similar to Devil May Cry and is best played with a gamepad. The Bayonetta weapon arsenal is just as stylish as the sexy witch: gold records, 4 pistols (2 on the hands, 2 on the feet), a katana and a whip are complemented by the more conventional shotgun.

Not only is the weapon arsenal up-to-date, the PC version even offers a 4K gaming experience.

The game was released for PC on Steam on April 11, 2017. You can find the launch trailer at the beginning of the article. Have fun!
