As part of a hour-long live streams on Twitch, the new Call of Duty: WWII was presented yesterday.
The series is now returning to its roots and allows the player to experience the Second World War and the most important historical scenarios up close. As a soldier landing in Normandy on D-Day or other prominent locations in Europe, we experience the greatest war in history.
In addition to the solo campaign, Call of Duty: WWII also offers player versus player and a cooperation mode. The single player campaign begins with D-Day and the player follows as Ronald "Red" Daniels, his infantry division through France and Belgium until the invasion of Germany. The missions are not one hundred percent historically exact, but are based on real events. To do this, they put camaraderie and human fate in the foreground.
There is variety, for example, with the liberation of Paris, in this mission you should be able to play a French resistance fighter. As in other Call of Duty games, the story is driven by scripted sequences. In addition, as expected, great importance is attached to the attention to detail, especially with the weapons.
There is a general change to the game system in terms of regeneration and ammunition. Unlike earlier parts of the series, you can't hide behind cover and wait for passive regeneration to kick in. Instead, you have to actively instruct your teammates to provide medicits, ammunition or cover fire.
Call of Duty: WWII co-op and multiplayer
Nazi zombies were only briefly indicated for the co-op mode. In return, we can expect fast action with authentic weapons and equipment in multiplayer mode. The locations are modeled on some of the most famous battlefields of World War II. With a new character and class editor, the player is offered many options. The headquarters was demonstrated using the example of “Omaha Beach” and will be the focal point of social interactions. There you should be able to run around and meet other players. We will find out more details about the multiplayer mode at E3 2017.
Call of Duty: WWII will be released on November 3rd for Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC and will have multiple editions.
