After the PC version of Destiny 2, the developers at Bungie announced their plans for the near future in a blog. The first patch will be released next week with 1.0.6.
With the release of Destiny 2, a slightly different team takes on the task of keeping the game running and delivering additional content. Game Director Christopher Barrett is exactly the right person for this, already in Destiny 1 he was part of the team of the expansions House of Wolves and The Awakening of the Iron Lords.
Destiny 2 - Planned Features
Even an enthusiastic player, he brings a breath of fresh air into the gaming world:
"Hey. We've been playing the game for seven weeks in the wild, and just like the previous one, we're constantly thinking about which direction it could take next. We're still considering when the improvements below will make it into the game, but we wanted to let you know what's going on with us. Here's a short list we'll work through:
- New systems and rewards to give our most avid players additional options.
- Better incentives for players who complete difficult Prestige activities.
- Better rewards and replay motivations for strikes, adventures and lost sectors.
- Private matches for the competitors among you (we are considering early 2018).
- Crucible tuning like improved scoring in domination and better spawning rules.
- Better motivation to compete in Crucible matches (and penalties for simply leaving competitive matches).
- Continuous improvements to the Iron Banner and Group Battles, including the uniqueness of the rewards.
- Changes to the mods are more interesting and have more impact.
- Ongoing improvements to the Exotic, including reducing duplicates.
- New ways to spend excess currency and materials (I'm looking at you, legendary fragments).
- A gesture interface with which you can equip Salty, Spicy Noodle Soup, Six Chambers and Freaking Out all at the same time.
The fans can expect a whole lot of new features and also many things that offer long-term motivation for completing difficult tasks.
In the further course of the blog there is a small overview of Patch 1.0.6. The complete overview, including known technical problems and fan videos, is available on the official Bungie site.
We have added the video from the developers to the blog for you at the beginning of the article.
