After the first big wave of information answers to the community's questions are coming one by one. Destiny 2.
No cross-platform play or saves
Since Destiny 2 is coming to PC for the first time, there were many questions about cross-platform playability. Or just the possibility to take your characters with you when changing platforms. Unfortunately there was only one negative Answer, this will not be possible. So players should think twice about their system choice. If your friends all play on PS4 and you want to be the only one to play the PC version, then you have to be aware that you have to look for new friends (at least for Destiny 2).
Destiny 2 Art Director Mike Zak on this topic:
Hopefully, you're going to find a platform where you've got friends and stick to that one. If you don't, you can use our new Guided Games system for clans to make new friends.
PC version will probably come after the console versions
Regarding the PC version, there was also bad news: The September 8th release date is currently only for the console versions. The appearance of the PC version is not yet known and will probably be later. Bungie hopes to set the date as soon as possible.
Luke Smith Game Director said:
We're not committed to a PC date yet, but at Bungie we're totally committed to making a PC build as great as we can. Our partnership with Blizzard and being on Battle.net, we want to make sure that this version of the game has the time it needs to bake in the oven so it's a delicious piece of bread when it comes out.
No dedicated server for PC
Another point of concern for PC gamers is multiplayer functionality. There will be no official Destiny 2 servers. This means that multiplayer games must be hosted by a player, ideally the one with the best connection quality. That's a black flag for many members of the community. Especially after the announcement that Destiny 2 would be available via Blizzard's Battle.net, many had hoped for a similar server structure as for Diablo 3 or World of Warcraft, with almost the same latency for all players.
Since the maximum number of players is only 8 (compared to 12 in Destiny 1) the load is a little less, but it can still cause problems for people with less upload or generally not so good internet.
Destiny 2 Campaign Trailer
But finally something positive, Bungie just released a new 9 minutes on the Destiny 2 campaign "Homecoming". The story, which is staged in a cinematic way, is presented to us very impressively and clearly makes us want more. There is a lot of action and sequence shown. Have fun!
